Fred Kodlin – Kodlin Motorcycles
Fred Kodlin started customizing parts as a teenager, making Bonanza handlebars for his Zuendapp Supersport. This was the start of a career in fabrication and customization.
He did his apprenticeship as a welder, then completed a Masters in Vehicle Construction & Blacksmithing. With a creative mind, a strong knowledge of engineering and skills in fabrication he launched his own business.
Kodlin motorcycles was established in Germany in 1984. The name Kodlin quickly became known for cutting-edge design and high-quality manufacturing.
His love of Harley-Davidson’s grew as the new EVO engine was released. Fred Kodlin began importing hundreds of bikes each year from America. He would customize the bikes for his customers based all around Europe.
Always driven to push the envelope he started building complete custom bikes to compete in USA based events like Rats Hole and Boardwalk shows at Daytona Beach in Florida.
Kodlin Motorcycles won many Best in Show awards, year after year they continue to showcase innovative designs.
Fred has been a regular at Sturgis since the early 90’s and his creative designs have been a major influence in the After Market industry. His influence in Europe, then America and now Worldwide is a great achievement and well deserved.
In 2021 the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum inducted Fred Kodlin into their Hall of Fame.
